The Future of Coastal Window Protection is Here.

Peace of Mind For Homeowners

Weather forecasters have predicted that more frequent and severe coastal storms will occur due to global warming. And, these storms will impact large areas along the Atlantic and Gulf coastlines resulting in devastating outcomes for homeowners.

Windows and doors can be vulnerable and prone to wind damage and penetration..

Until now, consumers have had to choose between expensive impact-resistant windows, bulky exterior storm shutters that need to be installed by professionals or plywood options.

Although plywood is cost effective, it can be difficult for homeowners to access and cover windows from the exterior on a second story of their home.

PolyWin Protector™ is the first product of its kind that can be installed on any floor by 2 people of average size and strength from the inside of their home.

Why it Works.

When windows shatter during a storm, a house can become pressurized like blowing air into a balloon. This wind pressure can push on roof systems and interior walls causing them to become compromised and eventually fail which can lead to a total loss of the home. Because windows can be one of the weakest areas on dwellings and vulnerable to wind damage, these areas should be protected to minimize damage caused by high winds.

A Product Developed By Homeowners, For Homeowners.

In October 2012, we lived on Long Beach Island, N.J., and lost our house to Superstorm Sandy. We’ll never forget the feeling of driving back into our storm-ravaged neighborhood to see the total devastation of our greatest asset – our home.

Over the next year, we built a new home and moved back into our neighborhood. In October 2013, one year later after Sandy, another storm formed in the same area of the Caribbean where Sandy originated. Meteorologists predicted it would further develop and strike the Jersey coastline with winds of 130 mph.

Fortunately, that storm got pushed out to sea and spared New Jersey coastal residents from another devastating storm.

Uniform Load Structure and Missile Impact Testing

The PolyWin Protector has received two patents as well as an approved trademark name. Homeowners can be secure in knowing that the PolyWin Protector has been tested at the National Certified Testing Laboratory. Using the ASTM E330-14 test method, the panel withstood 57.6 psf which is equivalent to the force generated by 150 mph winds without breaking, cracking or dissociation of any kind. Also, the panel has performed well during missile impact testing

What Makes PolyWin Protector™ Different.

PolyWin Protector™ sits in the screen tracks of double-hung tilt wash windows and is held securely in place to the upper and lower window sashes from the interior of the home. Homeowners can install these protective panels from the INSIDE of their home on any floor without the use of tools, fasteners or ladders.

The solid and multiwall polycarbonate design create a rigid, impact and wind resistant panel that protects windows from breaking during high-velocity windstorms, shattering from flying debris, or from unwanted forced entry into homes. The PolyWin Protector™ offers homeowners a more cost-effective and practical alternative to window protection..

We Have Nothing to Hide.
Because we are nothing like other products on the market.

The Truth About New Construction.

  • Not every coastal county requires the use of impact-resistant windows regardless of how close homes are to the coastline

  • When impact-resistant windows are mandated in a locality, they can easily double window budgets for homeowners

  • Builders may also charge more for installing these windows due to their heavy weight and the use of lifts as well as additional framing and fastening requirements

The PolyWin Protector™ offers homeowners an economical solution and flexibility when it comes to window protection from powerful winds, flying debris or unwanted forced entry.
